As IBC 2025 wraped up, I left leaving Amsterdam energised by the conversations, clever ideas, and shared vision for the future of video streaming. This year’s event was a powerful reminder of how rapidly our industry is evolving, and how critical it is that we stay ahead of the curve.
At Velocix, we’ve always believed that smarter, more secure streaming is the key to unlocking better viewer experiences and more sustainable business models. That belief was front and centre at our booth this year, where we showcased our latest advances in:
1. CDN Leeching Protection
Velocix announced solutions focussed on combatting CDN leeching, where unauthorized third parties consume content from an operator's CDN without paying for it. In collaboration with Verimatrix, we showcased software that detects and prevents unauthorized usage by implementing server-side security measures like advanced tokenization, rate throttling, token revocation, and AI-powered anomaly detection.
2. Hybrid-Cloud Streaming
We demonstrated how combining cloud elasticity with on-premises efficiency can deliver the best of both worlds - enabling operators to scale dynamically while controlling costs. Our hybrid-cloud architecture is designed to adapt to real-world traffic patterns, whether it’s a major sports final or a viral content surge.
3. AI-Powered Analytics
Our enhanced Velocix Analytics platform now uses AI to forecast CDN traffic more accurately, helping providers prepare for spikes and optimise delivery routes. This isn’t just about performance — it’s about making smarter, data-driven decisions that improve QoE and reduce energy consumption.
4. Multi-CDN Content Steering
With our new CDN Broker and content steering capabilities, we’re enabling real-time switching between CDNs based on viewer experience, cost, and other relevant data. This ensures that content is always delivered via the best-performing path, improving reliability and reducing churn.
