Velocix has highlighted the accelerating transformation of the Latin American streaming market, following new industry data showing that LATAM streaming revenues are projected to climb from approximately $11 billion in 2023 to nearly $19 billion by 2030, overtaking pay TV as the region’s largest video revenue category as stated by CSI Magazine.com
According to insights from 3Vision, the region has entered a new phase where monetisation—not penetration - is now the primary growth driver. With most households already participating in the streaming ecosystem, revenue expansion is being fuelled by greater spending from existing users and the stacking of multiple services per home. The number of paying SVOD households is expected to rise from 66 million to 84 million by 2030, while total subscriptions could jump from 111 million to around 176 million, meaning the average household will subscribe to more than two services.
Advertising is emerging as a central component of this next growth cycle. Ad supported video-on-demand (AVOD) revenues are forecast to almost triple to $6 billion by 2030, and FAST (Free Ads supported Streaming TV) channels are expected to grow from under $400 million in 2023 to approximately $1.6 billion by 2030.
At the same time, the traditional pay-tv sector continues its decline, with revenues projected to fall from $13 billion in 2023 to about $9 billion by 2030, intensifying competitive pressure on operators and strengthening the role of streaming first‑ strategies.
Velocix sees this evolving landscape as a pivotal opportunity for operators, broadcasters, and content owners to modernise their video delivery infrastructure. These shifts underscore the importance of scalable, flexible, and cost efficient‑ video platforms capable of supporting hybrid monetisation models.
Velocix cloud native CDN, hybrid CDN architectures, personalised streaming, and targeted ad insertion technologies are purpose built to help LATAM service providers maximise revenue per viewer while optimising delivery costs.
